Within the Indonesian population, this study explored the reliability and validity of the Rowland Universal Dementia Assessment Scale (RUDAS) results. At a geriatric nursing center, Indonesian older adults (N = 135; 52 male, 83 female; age range: 60-82) completed the Indonesian version of the RUDAS (RUDAS-Ina), after a content adaptation study with community-dwelling seniors (N = 35) involved nine neurologists and two geriatric nurses. A consensus-building approach was adopted for the purpose of ensuring face and content validity. Confirmatory factor analysis produced results supporting a single-factor model. Our study examined the efficacy and tolerability of neoadjuvant treatments using immune checkpoint inhibitors in patients with locally advanced gastric cancer.
We investigated patients with locally advanced gastric or gastroesophageal cancer, specifically those treated with ICI-based neoadjuvant regimens. PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Library, and the conference abstracts of leading international oncology events were scrutinized in our search. A retrospective, multicenter cohort study evaluated the utility of pre-operative radiologic and serologic data in selecting optimal surgical indications for non-functioning pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PanNETs), analyzing 78 patients (20 mm or less) who underwent resection at three tertiary medical centers from 2004 to 2020. Radiological findings demonstrated a non-hyper-attenuation pattern on contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT), exhibiting hetero/hypo-attenuation, along with involvement of the main pancreatic duct (MPD). Serological markers revealed elevated serum elastase 1 and plasma chromogranin A (CgA) levels.
Among small, non-functional PanNETs, lymph node metastasis was detected in 5 of 78 (6%), 11 were classified as WHO grade II (14% of 76), and 9 exhibited microvascular invasion (14% of 66). A total of 20 out of 78 (26%) displayed at least one of these high-risk pathological factors. Assessment of patients before surgery showed hetero/hypo-attenuation in 25 of 69 patients (36%), and MPD involvement in 8 of 76 cases (11%). Of the 33 patients, one (3%) displayed elevated serum elastase 1, whereas none (0%) of the 11 patients exhibited elevated plasma CgA levels. Hetero/hypo-attenuation, as shown in multivariate logistic regression analysis, exhibited a significant association with high-risk pathological factors, with an odds ratio of 61 (95% confidence interval 17-222).
