This study methodically examined clinicopathological data relating to foreign body reactions (FBR) induced by esthetic procedures in the orofacial region. Electronic databases and gray literature were searched for the review question, using the abbreviation PEO. To gauge bias risk, the JBI Critical Appraisal Checklist, developed at the University of Adelaide, was utilized. 86 research papers, showcasing 139 cases of FBR, were meticulously examined. In 2018, we examined the development of reading ability in 77 Japanese deaf and hard-of-hearing children, aged 5-7 (40 female), in comparison to 139 hearing children (74 female). We evaluated each group's phonological awareness (PA), grammar, vocabulary, and hiragana reading proficiency (Japanese early orthography). DHH children's grammatical and vocabulary skills lagged significantly, while their phonological abilities lagged only slightly. Younger hearing-impaired children displayed superior reading skills compared to their normally hearing peers. While predictions for reading ability in hearing children were made by PA, in contrast, reading skills proved a predictor of PA in deaf and hard-of-hearing children.
